All fireworks and sparklers are to be used only by adults over 18 years of age.
Never try to re-ignite a firework that failed to work. Wait 5 minutes and pour water over it.
Make sure they are not placed upside down — the correct position is the one in which the lettering reads the right way up.
Keep a safe distance, and use outdoors only.
Aerial shots
Place the firework on solid ground and make sure it cannot fall over: secure it firmly with bricks or stones that do not exceed the height of the firework. There must be no obstacles in the direction of fire, such as balconies, trees or power lines.
Outdoor use only, with a minimum safety distance of 50 metres from people, animals, dry grass, and flammable or fragile materials. If it is windy, postpone use.
Light the fuse and move 20 metres away.
For extra safety, ignition can be done with a 9V-12V battery or with a remote-controlled device.
Action fireworks
Light the firework and throw it away from yourself, and away from people, flammable materials and animals.
If it belongs to the Roman candle category, fix it to the ground angled towards open sky, and avoid holding it in your hands after lighting it. If you decide to hold the Roman candle in your hands, you do so entirely at your own risk. See the instructions for aerial shots.
Action fireworks are intended for adults ONLY. Minors only under strict adult supervision, at the adult's responsibility.
Fountains
Place the fountain on the ground, at a safe distance of 10 metres from people, flammable materials and animals.
Light the fuse and move away.
If the fountain is electrically ignited, for safety reasons ignition must be done with a 9V-12V battery or with a remote-controlled device.
Outdoor use only, except for certain products that are suitable for indoor use — and only in spaces with a ceiling higher than 5 metres and with working ventilation. Safety distance from people: 10 metres. Indoor use is at your own risk.
Rockets
Place the rocket on a stable base, in a tube or bottle, without wedging it in. Make sure it does not lean and that there are no obstacles in the direction of fire. Note that the wooden stick will follow the rocket on launch, so when setting it up it must remain free and not tied down.
Outdoor use only, with a minimum safety distance of 50 metres from people, animals, dry grass, and flammable or fragile materials, and never in windy conditions.
Light the fuse and move 20 metres away. Rockets require particular care.
